About Lorren Siu, LMFT
Discover the Strength in Slowing Down, Tuning In, and Finding Your Way Back to Yourself
Since you’re here, chances are life feels heavier than it should. Maybe you’re burned out from trying to hold everything together. Maybe your relationships feel strained, or anxiety seems to follow you everywhere – always whispering, “What if?” “What next?”
Perhaps you’re tired of trying to plan and predict every detail just to feel safe. Or maybe you’re simply at a point where uncertainty feels unbearable.
If any of this feels familiar, I want you to know: you’re not alone – and you don’t have to keep carrying it all by yourself.
I love getting to know people, hearing their stories, and supporting them as they move out of crisis and into a steadier, more grounded place. For many of my clients, therapy becomes the turning point – the moment where life stops feeling so chaotic and starts to feel more manageable, more connected, and more hopeful.
That’s why I do this work – and why I’d love to help you, too.
How I Help Clients Move Forward
When people first come to me, they’re often feeling depleted. They’re anxious, stuck, or frustrated by patterns they can’t seem to break. They want relief – but more than that, they want positive, lasting change.
They want calm that doesn’t disappear when life gets hard again, relationships that actually feel fulfilling, and a deeper sense of trust in themselves to handle whatever comes their way.
In our work together, we’ll create a space where you can slow down, breathe, and truly explore what’s happening inside.
Therapy with me isn’t about rushing to “fix” things or glossing over your struggles. Instead, we’ll approach what’s weighing on you with curiosity, compassion, and honesty – so we can uncover what’s really fueling your anxiety, stress, or sense of disconnection.
From there, we’ll explore new ways to navigate challenges, helping you feel more grounded, capable, and at peace, even when life feels uncertain.
Over time, you’ll likely notice changes that once felt out of reach, such as:
- Feeling calmer and more centered, even when life gets busy or stressful
- Managing thoughts and emotions with greater ease
- Building healthier, more connected relationships
- Learning to loosen the grip on control and trust yourself through uncertainty
- Making real progress toward long-delayed goals and dreams
Every therapy session looks different because every person is different. This is why I use a variety of approaches in my work – from mindfulness, Brainspotting, and other somatic therapies, to Christian, faith-based counseling, to more traditional talk therapy – and let our conversations flow based on where you are and what you need.
I love the creative, unpredictable nature of therapy and enjoy helping clients step into that same openness themselves.
And sometimes, you’ll get a little extra support from my therapy dog, Emi. She’s warm, protective, and loves greeting clients as they arrive. (Many people tell me just seeing Emi helps them start to relax before we even begin!)
My Background
While the focus of my work is helping people like you find relief from anxiety, unresolved trauma, and relationship issues, people often ask how I came to do this work …
The truth is, I didn’t plan to become a behavioral or mental health therapist.
I studied Theology and Biblical Studies at a small Christian university – not because I intended to go into ministry full-time, but because I was drawn to understanding people and the deeper questions we carry.
Eventually, I felt called toward counseling and completed a Graduate Program in Marriage and Family Therapy, which quickly became my true professional home.
Since then, I’ve worked in a variety of settings: providing school-based therapy to children and teens, equine-assisted therapy at DreamPower Horsemanship in Gilroy, and counseling for individuals, couples, and families at a Christian community center.
I truly believe this is the work I was meant to do. God led me here, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside people during some of the most challenging – and transformative – moments of their lives.
Today, I work with people of all faith backgrounds, and I love helping clients integrate spirituality into their healing, if they choose. No matter your beliefs, you’re welcome here.
Outside of the office, I love horseback riding, hiking, cooking new meals with my husband, playing board games, and, of course, spending time with Emi. She’s the one part of work I’m always sure to bring home with me. 😉
Ready to Get Started?
Reaching out for help can feel vulnerable and even scary. But it’s also the first step towards creating healing, growth, and positive, lasting change.
Having done this work myself – and supported so many clients along the way – I can honestly say that investing in yourself is worth it.
Putting in the time, energy, and care to better understand and support yourself is one of the most valuable investments you’ll ever make – for your relationships, your life, and your future.
You don’t have to have it all figured out to start. All you need is the willingness to take that first step.
If you’re ready, I invite you to contact me today and schedule a free, 15-minute phone consultation. I look forward to meeting you and helping you find your way back to yourself.
